This site is dedicated to the memory of Kellie and to inform people of the Kellie Watts-Goodell Memorial Barrel Race that will be held each year. While Kellie was alive she was a true cowgirl. Despite her cancer treatments, Kellie showed courage and determination to pursue her dreams of barrel racing. In her selfless love of the sport, she let others ride her horse(Missy) in the last several months of her life, so she could still be involved in barrel racing with her son. Kellie loved the western way of life and was involved in riding and showing since the age of 4. Her real love came from the lasting friends she met on the road and that made such an impact on her life. Through riding horses, Kellie learned many values that she was able to pass on to her son Dylan.
Our goal for the Kellie Watts-Goodell Memorial is to make this barrel race one of the biggest in this area ,increase the awareness of breast cancer and to increase local scholarship funds for local youth. Besides increasing the local scholarship funds for local youths, a portion of the funds earned will also go to breast cancer research.
